Rock Hard 4x4 Parts TJ Rollcage

Installation

Tools required:    3/16th Allen Wrench, Set of Torx bits, Phillips screwdriver, 1/4th in center punch, hacksaw or skillsaw.
First thing we did was to remove the rollcage padding from the bar that goes across the top of the door and the center bar that crosses the top.
Remove the speaker covers and speakers.  2 Phillips screws for each cover, 4 Phillips for each speaker.  Unclip the speakers and set out of harms way.
Remove the 3 bolts on each side of the dash, pull the dash away from the body about 3/8th of an inch.
Now the hardest part.  Remove the thread clips from the 3 holes on each side of the dash.  I tried to get a picture of it, but it was dark and you couldn't see it in enough detail.  There is a center tab in the thread clips that holds it between the sheet metal.  I found it easiest to bend and break off the tab to get the thread clip to fall out.

Push the dash back in place against the body.
Fold the soft top back or raise the hardtop about 4 inches.   Remove the door surrounds.  Note:  The easiest thing to do at this point would be to lower your soft top and remove the door surrounds or remove your hardtop and plan on doing the complete installation at this time.
Remove the 2 bolts from each side of the factory roll bar at the top corners of the windshield.  (had to use some liquid wrench in my case because I have never lowered my windshield.)
Install the sport bar top assembly.  Loosely install the clamps, reinstall the 2 bolts from each side of the factory roll bar at the top corners of the windshield.
Install the front windshield bar.  The secret to this is to make sure you have removed your door surrounds.  Bring it in and line it up with the clamps against the stock bar across the door.  Then slide into position.   Align the 3 holes on each side of the dash with a punch to hold it in place.   Install the 5/16th x 1 inch panhead bolts using the plates for nuts.  Reach through the speaker holes to hold the plates.  Install the clamps.
Now tighten all clamps and bolts evenly.  A little on this side, a little on that.  Reinstall the speakers and speaker covers.
Before reinstalling the door surrounds, you must cut of approximately 1/4 inch of the plastic on the front mount.  See photo.

Front Windshield bar with handles.

cdash.jpg (13038 bytes)

Front bar fits perfectly without limiting vision.

atop.jpg (11779 bytes)

The visors and soft top latches still function.

clampis.jpg (10659 bytes)

Heavy duty CNC machined clamps.

drivehand.jpg (13402 bytes)

The handle doesn't make the blind spot any worse then it already is.

passhand.jpg (13469 bytes)

The handle on the passenger side is the same way.

hood.jpg (14109 bytes)

The windshield bar does little to limit the forward view from the drivers seat.

fmount.jpg (11684 bytes)

The angle iron mounting to the firewall is the strongest I've seen in a cage of this style.

tfclamps.jpg (14046 bytes)

The location of the clamps makes this a very strong bolt-in cage.

toprear.jpg (11110 bytes)

Very neat and clean looking along with functional.
